Untouchable

Went to see Untouchable today, which happened to be a French film with sub-titles!

Yeah the idea of reading off the screen was a little hard at first, but to be honest I forgot the more I got into it.

Basically about a black guy wanting a third disapproval from a job vacancy, the idea that he needed 3 businesses to turn him down to claim benefits in order to support his family of many children at home.

On his third interview, we find that he is in a rather antique french house with all these paintings of white 'important' people on the wall and red velvet touched chairs etc.

Anyhow, with his casual manner he storms in and says all he wants is a signature to prove he went to the interview and they turned him down. However, the employer (which you find is handicapped  is amused by his character and this is how their friendship began.

From my perspective,

  • i think it presented how someone of such higher status have the capacity to accept someone lower perhaps
  • the idea that being handicapped didn't prevent this guy to be so rich and successful
  • how poverty is real issue that could be prevented by the rich
  • based on a true story it highlighted the reality of lives today
  •  barriers in life just make you that much stronger
  • prevail of racial acceptance
  • You can't underestimate what people can do
  • don't think to far ahead... they could be gay
Anyhow, I don't really know what made me want to comment on a film, just made me think.

I Totally recommend it.
